Who is responsible

Claritas International, an NBAA-registered partnership in Tanzania, is responsible for the information described here. Write to info@claritas.co.tz or call +255 757 555 000 with any question about it. Our office is at 395 Ursino Building, 4th Floor, Morocco Junction, Mwai Kibaki Road, Dar es Salaam.

We handle personal information in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2022 and, where it applies to a visitor outside Tanzania, comparable rules in their own country.

What we collect

When you contact us

Our enquiry and quote request forms ask for your name, email address, and message, and optionally your phone number, organisation, and an outline of what you need. We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. Nothing more.

When you apply for a job

The application form collects your name, contact details, the role you are applying for, and the CV you attach. It goes to the people making the hiring decision.

When you register for an event

We collect your name, email address, and organisation so we can send you the joining details and a calendar invite, and so we know how many seats are taken.

When you subscribe to updates

We keep your email address and confirm it by sending you a link, so nobody can be signed up by someone else. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you.

When you simply read the site

We record which page was opened, which site linked you to it, roughly when, and what kind of browser it was. Our cookie notice explains this in full, including what changes if you decline. We do not know your name from this, and we do not attempt to work it out.

Who else sees it

We do not sell information and we do not share it for advertising. A small number of suppliers handle parts of the site on our behalf and see only what they need to do that:

• our hosting provider, which runs the servers this site and its records sit on;
• Resend, which delivers the confirmation and notification emails we send;
• Cloudflare, where a form is protected by a spam check, which sees the check itself.

We will also disclose information where the law or a regulator requires it of us, which for an audit firm is a real and occasional obligation.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and quote requests: while the conversation is live, then as part of our business record.
• Job applications: twelve months from the date you apply, unless you ask us to remove yours sooner.
• Event registrations: through the event and the follow-up that goes with it.
• Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
• Website visit records: kept as a running record of how the site is used.
• Cookies on your device: thirteen months at most, and shorter for the visit cookie. See the cookie notice.

What you can ask for

You can ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
• stop sending you email, which the unsubscribe link in any of our emails does immediately.

Email info@claritas.co.tz and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can raise it with the Personal Data Protection Commission in Tanzania.
